If you were holding off on getting a Mac Mini because it didn’t have enough hardware specs for you to multi-task over 3 or 4 LCD screens, you may be interested in this piece of news.
Apple has just updated their lineup of Mac Mini computers, and I am pleased to say that they now support up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM (Random Access Memory).
Now, before you get too excited, I have to mention that Apple has always charged a premium for top-of-the-line upgrades, while I purchased 16GB of DDR3 RAM for my desktop PC for $530, Apple is charging $1400 for 16GB (2 x 8GB) for their upgrade.
The sticks themselves are manufactured by OWC, but are nonetheless super expensive, given Apples proprietary nature.
The bottom line, at least for me, is to get a PC if you’re looking to have 16GB of memory in your computer, unless of course, you’re rich. Listed below are all the different variations you can opt for, if you choose to upgrade your current Mini, followed by a video on how to upgrade.
